Cookies & Device Storage
This page lists every cookie and every item PLANORA saves on your browser or phone, and why.
1. Summary
PLANORA uses only storage that is needed for signing in, security, your display preferences and offline event tools. PLANORA does not use analytics, advertising, social-media pixels, fingerprinting or any third-party tracking cookies. Because nothing optional is stored, PLANORA does not show a cookie consent banner.
2. Cookies
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
PLANORASESSID | Keeps you signed in while you use PLANORA and protects forms against forgery. Secure and HTTP-only (scripts cannot read it). | Until you sign out, close the browser or the session times out | Strictly necessary, first-party |
planora_trusted_device | Set only if you tick "Trust this browser" after a sign-in code. Lets you skip the e-mail code on this browser. It holds random identifiers (one per account you trust on this browser, up to 8), never your password. HTTP-only. | 30 days, or until you sign out of trusted devices | Security, first-party, optional (you choose it) |
3. Browser storage
| Key | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
planora_theme, planora-public-theme | Remembers light or dark mode | Until you clear site data |
planora_density, planora_sidebar, planora_notifications | Remember dashboard layout and on-screen notification preferences | Until you clear site data |
planora_launch_seen_v3 (session storage) | Shows the welcome animation only once per visit | Until the tab is closed |
planora_offline_scans_v1 | Event staff only: holds check-in scans made while offline until they are sent to PLANORA | Until the scans are synced |
| Offline event page cache (service worker) | Event staff only: keeps the offline check-in page available without internet | Until replaced by a newer version or cleared |
4. Android app storage
The sign-in session and the offline passes, rosters and check-ins below are stored using PLANORA's encrypted device storage, protected by a key held in the Android Keystore.
| Item | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
Sign-in session (planora_secure_session_v1) | Keeps you signed in. Encrypted on the phone with a key held in the Android Keystore. | Until you sign out or the session expires |
planora_mobile_theme | Remembers light or dark mode | Until the app data is cleared |
planora_offline_snapshot_v1 | Your own passes and event details for viewing without internet | Replaced on each refresh; removed when you sign out |
planora_offline_rosters_v1, planora_offline_checkins_v1 | Event staff only: assigned event rosters and offline check-ins waiting to sync, stored per staff account | Rosters until replaced; check-ins until they are synced (kept through sign-out so no attendance is lost) |
planora_mobile_migration_version | Records which app storage format is in use | Until the app data is cleared |
5. Other websites
When you choose to pay online, sign in with Google, or open a map link, you go to that provider's own website (for example PayMongo, Google or OpenStreetMap), which uses its own cookies under its own policy. PLANORA does not embed their trackers in PLANORA pages.
6. Your choices
You can clear cookies and site data in your browser settings, or clear the PLANORA app's storage in Android settings. If you block the session cookie, you will not be able to sign in. Signing out removes the session; un-trusting a device removes the trusted-device cookie.
